Funded by Kulturrådet, the Norwegian arts council, and produced by Cirkus Xanti, The Rising Wave takes a detailed look at contemporary circus art at European and national levels. Its contents are based on a review of literature, around twenty in-depth interviews, and an open survey. With a focus on professional artists and their creation practices, it touches on paths into education and training, the realities of working life, and the market for circus performance – at home and abroad.
